What It Is
It’s not the stuff itself; what matters is how that stuff makes people feel
Over the course of seven years, we ran over thirty different studies encompassing over a thousand qualitative interactions that revealed one overarching conclusion: when it comes to what really matters to people about work and how it fits into their lives, it’s never the stuff itself that actually bothers them but how that stuff makes them feel. Their feelings drive what they think, what they do, and what they say about it.
Everything ladders up into seven core areas:

There is no single gold standard – different organizations march to different tunes – but understanding the temperature of these seven feeling spectrums is key to managing the organization’s culture and its employees’ experience.
